Women-led Community CVE Awareness Campaign in Gubio, Magumeri & Mobbar Borno State: This is a four (4) months project for the period of April to July 2018 with a budget of N19, 983,500 funded by USAID/OTI program known as North East Regional Initiative (NERI) implemented by Creative Associates International. The project aimed at empowering community women to recognize the potentials they have and the roles they can play within their spheres of influence to contribute to finding lasting and sustainable solutions to the persistent insurgency problems within the insurgency affected communities of Borno State. The project’s ultimate goal is to disrupt the circle of ISWA influence and support how quickly the region returns back on the path of recovery and development. The project has directly identified and build the capacity of 600 active women influencers on prevention and countering violent extremism through peer2peer sensitization strategy at the household level, and provided them with economic empowerment packages both at individual and group level in an efforts to sustain interest, commitment, and offer positive alternatives to build resistance to lures of the insurgents or VE allies.
