Civil Society Platform on Health (CSPH)/ Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) CSO Constituency Project: The project is a one (1) year project funded through Catholic Relieve Services and Implemented under Civil Society in Malaria, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) in Jere and MMC Borno State. The project aimed to stimulate increase in uptake of routine immunization and engender community ownership of RI process. A target of 764 women where directly reached through community level activities such as Focused Group Discussion, Health talks, Antenatal clinics, House to house sensitization and inter personal communications. More indirectly this activity has reached 6000 women with RI awareness with the aim of eliciting the perceptions and beliefs of community members on principles of immunization by mobilizing underserved communities and defaulter tracking to help reduce cases of non-compliance with vaccination/schedules. – Community

Project Summary

Clean-up for vulnerable Shuwa Jiddari Polo Wards: Is a three (3) months project for the period of July to August 2018 funded by USAID/OTI programme known as North East Regional Initiative (NERI) implemented by Creative Associates International. This activity is aimed at engaging vulnerable Shuwa Arab youth of Jiddari polo in Borno State through cash for work in an effort to increase feelings of economic opportunities and helping beneficiaries feel more included in their communities thereby building trust and credible communities. Directly the activity has benefited 150 youth which 110 were male and 60 women.

Project Summary

Women-led Community CVE Awareness Campaign in Gubio, Magumeri & Mobbar Borno Sate: Is a four (4) months project for the period of April to July 2018 funded by USAID/OTI programme known as North East Regional Initiative (NERI) implemented by Creative Associates International. The project aimed at empowering community women to recognizing the potentials they have and the roles they can play within their spheres of influence to contribute to finding lasting and sustainable solutions to the persistent insurgency problems within the insurgency affected communities of Borno State. The project ultimate goal is to disrupt circle of ISWA influence and support how quickly the region returns back on the path of recovery and development. The project has directly identified and build capacity of 600 active women influencers on prevention and countering violence extremism through peer2peer sensitization strategy at household level, and provided them with economic empowerment packages both at individual and group level in an efforts to sustain interest, commitment and offer positive alternatives to build resistance to lures of the insurgents or VE allies.

Project Summary

Establishment of Peace Clubs in five communities of Geidam L.G.A Yobe State Is a six (6) months project for the Jan to April 2018 funded by USAID/OTI through it programme ‘’North East Regional Initiative’’ (NERI) implemented by Creative Associates International. The activity aimed to promote and improve community cohesion and reconciliation among youths using the fun of sports, cooking competition, and social networking to build resilience against violence extremism influences. The activity has directly engaged 200 youth out of which are 130 male and 70 women as peace ambassador on peer2peer sensitization strategy on peace building and countering violence extremism. Through club formation and peer2peer engagements, a total of 1,200 were directly reached with peace building and P/CVE messages. These activities have created space for experience sharing on prevention and countering violent extremism among youths and promote their zeal for peaceful cohesion and forming unified entity that tightens the space for VE penetration in insurgency affected communities.
